I remember starting my 'online career' around 2011...
I had been working in the financial markets, and after surviving the GFC, flash crash and having faced a string of severe losses myself I was burnt out.
I wanted a whole lot more free time than just two days off per week.
I realised from a mathematical perspective I was getting a negative ROI on my time. I was exchanging five (sometimes six) working days for two days off. That didn't add up to me, as there was always going to be a limit to my earnings when working for someone else.
I became burnt out, stressed and constantly bitter about my situation.
